cherubs at your wedding?
July 22nd, 2009I have never been to a wedding. Ever.
But a funny memory came back to me just today. On one of my trips around Europe (and while spending many hours sharing public transportation), a girl I met was telling me about the few weddings she had been to. She started laughing in sheer horror when she told me of one particular wedding she went to where the bride and groom had hired midgets who were spraypainted gold and were dressed as cherubs and were serving food to the guests. Can you get any more trashy? We laughed at how ridiculous it was and whether there was a market out there for this. But more importantly, wouldn’t this be some sort of human rights violation spraypainting people gold? It’s just so wrong.
On typing in “tacky weddings” into googlemac, I came across tackyweddings. I present to you all things heinous, trashy and hilarious at weddings. Entertaining if you are suffering a bout of boredom at work or the like. I especially love the couple who dressed up as Shrek and Princess Fiona for their wedding - it’s so bad that its good.
Have you got any tacky wedding stories?
Come on, do spill.

lol, omg there are no words. Spray-painted midgets??
I don’t really have any tacky wedding stories, because I haven’t been to many in my life. At my own wedding (in a village in the north of France), the maire adjoint who married Max and I was drunk while he was reading the vows. Turns out, our wedding day was also his birthday, so he had a little “cheer” before coming in for his mayor duties. He totally butchered the English names of my parents, and may or many not have patted me on the ass after the ceremony. Oh, and Max’s sister (who doesn’t like me) decided to show up wearing transparent white pants and a belly baring shirt. Classy, I tell ya.

Ohhh I soooo did NOT need another internet thing to distract me from doing actual work, lol. But since I cannot get enough of wedding related things, despite my own being years and years away, you are totally forgiven. The neon orange bridesmaids, however, not so forgiven.

up until this march, i hadn’t ever been to a wedding as well. and then BAM friends start getting married! so far they’ve been classy and wonderful
there’s a tv show here called “Bridezillas.” it’s awful. you can guess by the name what type of brides they follow. but like any reality tv show, when they’re on, i can’t seem to stop watching.
